Full Moon April 20th, 2008
0:43 Scorpio Moon and Taurus Sun
6:25 am EDT
3:25 am PDT
The full moon takes place as the Moon sets in
the west and the sun rises in the east for the eastern United
States ~ making the lunation angular and even more about
relationships and duality than full moons usually are. The full
moon was seeded in the fall of 2006 on the New Moon in October at
28:40 Libra. That full moon column is available on Anne's site for
you to read in its entirety. We come to a culmination of the
journey today as the lights, joined back then, oppose each other
across the heavens, lighting our path with the moon’s glow.
Rereading my column from October, I wrote about
the need to pluck the suckers from the rose bushes in your life to
encourage healthy and robust blooms of your roses as well as the
fact that the new moon stimulated the 1982 Saturn and Pluto
conjunction in Libra. Now Saturn and Pluto are trine to each
other, culminating in a closing aspect, guiding you to a new
vision about something you learned about relationships from 1982
and Fall 2006. To quote myself:
The new moon at 28:40 Libra echoes across time
and space. It asks us to start anew with a revised or different
vision of the issues from our past. It is time to revisit our
known knowns and our accepted wisdoms. We are a moment in time
when we can see what and how our known knowns and accepted wisdoms
created our life. One of the major stumbling blocks when we start
to become conscious is learning and understanding how our beings
are settled in, formed, created and passed into solid structures
by the roots of our family and early experiences. When you are
taught to “believe” in a thing, especially when you are young and
completely surrounded by large people, like parents, teachers, and
adults, it is difficult to separate out what is YOUR belief from
THEIR beliefs. Time to evaluate the accepted wisdom of how it has
always been done to see if you want to keep doing it that same
way. Ready?
Back on November 7, 1982, Saturn and Pluto, two
of our life structure planets joined in the sky to start a new
cycle of consciousness about our life. They joined at 27:36 Libra,
right next to the degree of our New Moon. The 27-28 Libra degree
stays “sensitive”, for lack of a more adequate word, for the
balance of the 38 year cycle of Saturn and Pluto. The conjunction
of Saturn and Pluto is the “seed” where a new plant eventually
sprouts to take form. Back in 1982, we learned lessons, perhaps
not ones we were completely happy with as we started a new
evolutionary growth process. The situation and the lessons from
1982 structured the next phase of our lives. When two planets
join, we continue to track the steps of their cycle dance with
each other. We watch our lives whenever planets stop or station on
the sensitive degree of 28 Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Libra as
those moments “wake up” that energy from 1982. Various planet
actions taking place at 27-28 Libra can be experienced as growing,
fertilizing, plucking the ripening fruit, pulling off the dead
leaves, fierce pruning, testing, sway gently in the sunshine,
knocked over in a fierce storm. All growth cycles have phases.
At the bottom or along the main stem every rose
bush, these little cute twigs or baby branches grow, seeking life.
They are called “suckers”. Essentially, suckers take advantage of
the growing season, rose bush and lovely weather to shoot forth.
However, suckers sap the growing essence from the blooms. Suckers
divert energy. Blooms are the ultimate purpose of every plant.
Suckers want to use up the bloom’s energy. Rosarians, the fancy
name for people who take care of roses, aggressively snap off the
suckers to enhance, increase and lengthen the balance, fragrance
and energy sent to the bloom.
The universe, with, or without, your
cooperation, has been plucking and snapping the suckers off you
over the last year or so as you‘ve experienced the sesquiquadrate
of Saturn to Pluto. The universe wants you to bloom. It is time.
The suckers in your life are perfectly fine, legitimate branches
or twigs ~ they are part and parcel of you after all. They have a
perfect right to exist. In fact, you might want to keep some of
the suckers on your rose bush. They might be making a very
legitimate case for becoming an important branch in your life.
However, to have you bloom, to your highest purpose and potential,
you’ll have the opportunity to pluck your suckers over the next
couple of weeks. You have clearly identified your suckers by now.
You know what suckers look like. Pluck the suckers that don’t
contribute to your higher path, love, growth or expansion. They
are draining your energy and time.
After I learned about plucking suckers, I
started checking out rose bushes that grow in the wild, untended
by sucker plucking Rosarians. Those rose bushes have lots and lots
of suckers! The universe and nature likes abundance and
redundancy. Those sucker covered rose bushes still BLOOM. Their
blooms are smaller, less fragrant and not as abundant. But they do
bloom. It takes more work, time and energy to support both the
blooms and all those suckers. The rose bush life force is diverted
into all sorts of places that it doesn’t need to go.
Over the next few weeks, the Cosmic Rosarian
will be marching over to your part of the rose garden to inspect
the bushes you’ve been plucking the suckers on for the last year
or so. The Rosarian might decide to pluck a sucker that you (and
perhaps even the sucker) consider to be a legitimate branch or
twig. Trust the Cosmic Rosarian if a branch or twig gets plucked
off and called a sucker. Even if you don‘t agree, trust the
process! The cosmic pluck is to help you grow. That plucked branch
or twig can go and grow some place else. You don’t have to keep
supporting it with your life force.
And, if the Cosmic Rosarian doesn’t pluck stuff
in your part of the garden over the next few weeks that means
you’ve been doing your Saturn just fine. Keep on doing your
Saturn. You’ve learned to identify the suckers from the true
purpose of your particular rose bush and found your path.
We are in the trine of the conjunction of
Saturn and Pluto. It is time for the roses in your life to bloom.
The full moon marks a choice for each of us about how we want
those blooms to appear in our lives. North Node joins with Neptune
pushing the beauty of vision forward to the next phase. Are you
going to Pluck Some Roses for your table or leave them on the bush
to continue growing into the next phase? Not right or wrong ~ what
calls to your heart?
There is a huge grand trine in earth forming on
the full moon, making things ripen and come to fruition. So pluck
that rose in your life , harvest it or push it towards its next
growth phase, rose hips. Push for things to move to the next level
in your life. Don’t be fearful.
There is a family fight going on, Mars in
Cancer square Venus in Aries, about what is the value of a
particular thing. Is it actually of value to you? Why? What higher
purpose does it serve? Where is your ego getting in the way of the
calling of your spirit?
Addictions, negative versions of Neptune, can
flare under this full moon. We are all addicted some place in our
chart ~ where we have Neptune. We are all obsessive in our chart
some place ~ where we have Pluto. Pluto is kind of manageable
right now as he is going backwards into Sadge for one more pass to
remind us about the excess and overdoing in our lives. Saturn is
getting reading to station, trine to Pluto, saying look at where
you are in your life. Think about where you thought you’d be at
this stage of your being. Does it match your dreams? What is the
variance? What do you want to change to get to a new place? What
do you want to preserve or continue to grow of the place and parts
where you currently stand?
The sun has moved into Taurus, fixing the
season of spring in our upper hemisphere of earth. The energy of
creation is rising up in each of us for us to move to our next
stage of growth and ripening.
In my case, the full moon falls on the 25th
Anniversary of my mother’s death. In November of 1982, we found
out she had a nasty, widely spread case of colon cancer. It is
hard to believe that I am 25 years with out talking or laughing
with my mother. I am, at age 53, past the life she had lived up to
age 52. I have no model or vision, provided by her, of what life
looks like for the next chapters of my life to come. So visioning
is left to me. It actually is left to each of us in this lovely
world. We don’t always appreciate it but we do vision our lives ~
consciously or unconsciously ~ and create our experiences.
So do some conscious visioning on this full
moon. Think about your life and the changes you’ve experienced
during it. See where you are. See where you would like to go. Tap
into source and connect with your soul to get some inner guidance
~ using positive Neptune ~ and forward we jump into the Saturn
Station and full moon seeing our creations as connected.
A friend sent me this link. It runs about 15
minutes but it is a lovely example of the story we are each
experiencing in our own lives right now. See how her path was
shaped by her early childhood and her brother’s mental illness,
how they helped her career choices and directed her life path. See
how the personal experience she describes illuminated and guided
her life. And see if you aren’t on your feet, cheering and
clapping as the room full of scientists and doctors do at the end
of her speech. ITWORS BETTER IF YOU CUT AND PASTE THE LINK INTO
YOUR BROWSER AND LOAD IT DIRECTLY.

Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the Sabian Image
for the Scorpio Moon is A SIGHTSEEING BUS FILLED WITH TOURISTS
Commentary: ‘A Sight-Seeing Bus Filled With
Tourists’ is an image of people touring around, seeing the sights,
taking in the surrounding atmosphere and learning about people and
places that are new or foreign to them. There can be a feeling of
knowing one’s destination, having a map or guide, but not really
knowing what it is actually like. There can also be the feeling
not only of being an observer, but being observed by others
yourself.
Oracle: Sometimes we find ourselves in
situations where we don’t understand the customs or the language
of those around us. You may need a tour guide to help you
acclimatize or to make the most of this journey. If you are
traveling with others, there may be a need to be punctual at all
times; the others could leave without you in their eagerness for
getting on with things. New friendships can be made, whilst others
lost. Remember to take in as much information as possible through
sight, sound, touch and smells, as this will enable you to learn
from the experiences that you are having. Pictures, postcards,
leaflets and souvenirs from your journey may be useful reminders
of your experiences. It may pay to keep an eye on your belongings,
especially if there are people you don’t know or trust journeying
with you on the ‘Bus’. Remember that these “belongings” may
manifest on every level-the physical, mental, emotional, and
spiritual. This applies especially to anything that allows you to
prove your unique identity. Being in an unknown place without
identification can be time wasting, confusing and can lead to a
sense of alienation or abandonment. Also, trying to communicate
with people who don’t understand you can lead to feeling
misunderstood, disconnected and shut out. None of this is
necessary, of course, as long as you’re awake and conscious at all
times. Maybe it’s time to stop being a “spectator” in life and to
become more of a participant. Whatever is happening, endeavor to
enjoy the ride, learn from the journey and take in all that is
possible.
Keywords: Observing life. Feeling disconnected
from reality. UFO’s and aliens. Seeing how other people live.
Watching from afar. Tourists, traveling, buses. Suitcases and
luggage. Cameras, pictures, souvenirs. Tour guides. Timing and
being on time. The untried and untrodden or the same old road.
Getting lost in something for hours. Foreign territories.
The Caution: Feelings of naivety and
gullibility. Feeling like an alien even in familiar surroundings.
Making assumptions about others’ lives. Disconnections from
reality. Not fitting in. Expecting things to be done without any
personal expenditure of effort or resources. Getting out of one’s
depth. Having difficulty calling one’s own agenda. anxiety.
Inability to concentrate.

At six one morning, Will went out in jeans and

megaphone was directed at him. “There’s one,” it said. That was in
the l960s. Ever since, he’s wondered. There’s one what? Renata

Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the Sabian Image
for the Taurus Sun is A CLEAR MOUNTAIN STREAM FLOWS STEADILY
DOWNSTREAM
Commentary: ‘A Clear Mountain Stream Flows
Steadily Downstream’ in a path, ultimately to the sea. The
‘Mountains’ are the source of all the oceans and, like the
‘Stream’, life is a process of change from the cradle to the
grave. A ‘Stream’ must follow its sure course even if it gets
distracted from its goal, as can happen when the flow of water is
diverted by something or someone. As it ‘Flows Steadily
Downstream’, nothing can really stop its ultimate direction. If it
is stopped or dammed, it accumulates immense energy, and will
practically burst to keep going. Water just goes on, over, under,
around, forever onward.
Oracle: There may be a need to choose a course
and then not deviate from it. This will help to nourish and
inspire confidence in yourself and those around you. There is
likely to be some type of tradition and strength behind you.
Realize that many came before you and you are a part of their
story. You can become fresh, vibrant and revitalized from your own
spiritual source. Be wary of standing still in this situation as
still water can become stagnant. Further, icy feelings and being
alienated from others will invite trouble further down the line.
Set a course and go with the flow. As you get closer to your
objective you will probably find you have a growing supply of
impetus and power. Keep moving toward your goal while remembering
to cultivate warmth and acceptance with all that you meet along
the way. However, this Symbol can also describe a person that
refuses to do anything other than what they have in mind. Having
tunnel vision about one’s direction can alienate others.
Performing your tasks with a focused vitality will be both
positive and productive. Picture a ‘Stream’ flowing downhill,
going around any obstacles and finding its true course.
Keywords: Remaining fluid. Flowing energy. Pure
sources, nourishment and refreshment. Sure sense of direction.
“Untainted” blood lines. Purifying one’s thoughts, ideas and
beliefs. Things set in train from upstream. Water. Dams. Water as
a resource. Purification. Cleaning and cleansing. Pipelines. The
spiritual dimensions of water. Baptism. Elemental knowledge.
The Caution: Aimlessness. Aloofness. Feelings
of physical, spiritual, racial or intellectual purity that can
lead to smugness, bigotry or a false sense of superiority. Ice
cold feelings and responses. Not taking notice or being concerned
about another’s feelings. Cold ambition.
Everything flows and nothing abides; everything
gives way and nothing stays fixed. Heraclitus

no longer manipulated by what other people want you to do and be,
but are directed by your own inner desires. H. Stanley Judd
